The last two seasons have been sort of rocky for Supernatural. In fact, they probably could have just ended things on Season 5 and been really good. I love Sam and Dean. Two of the best monster hunters, ever.

My First Horror Convention
This upcoming week, I am attending my first big horror/pop culture convention. It’s a 3-day convention in Virginia Beach, Virginia and it’s called, Blood On The Beach. There are lots of celebrities well-known and lesser known in attendance. The big theme of the convention is the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of The Lost Boys, and the TV show the Walking Dead. Edward Herrman, who played Max, and is known to many as Rory Gilmore’s granddad in the past hit TV Series Gilmore Girls will be making his first convention appearance ever. There were be other Lost Boys cast members in attendance.
Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead will be in attendance. The young girl Rick Grimes shoots in the opening episode of the series, Addy Miller, will be there along with Madison Lintz, who played Sophia. Michael and the two young ladies will both be participating in the scheduled zombie walk that will kick off the convention. I am very excited about meeting Norman. I hear he is a very nice guy and very caring towards his fans.

Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame will be in attendance as will Michael Biehn of the original Terminator film, Sean Patrick Flannery and David Della Rocco of Boondock Saints, Chad Lindberg of Supernatural, Tony Todd of Candyman, Hercules, and Xena, and Kane Hodder aka Jason Voorhees.
For music, we will get to enjoy the sounds of Alice Creeper, a fantastic Alice Cooper cover band and Gerald McMann aka G Tom Mac, who sang “Cry Little Sister” from The Lost Boys.
For more information, please visit the website at:http://www.bloodonthebeach.net/index.html
I am going to do my best and take some fantastic pictures for for you. I also paid to attend the VIP party. I will hopefully get to mingle with some of the celebrities. I will see if I can swing an interview (kind of don’t think it will happen). There are no promises but maybe I can get a question or two with some of these wonderful artists or just photos.
The promoters of this event have been awesome. There are some celebrities that have had to pull out due to other commitments, but the promoters have replaced them with some wonderful people. Props to Dark Shutter, you know who you are and all of the other fabulous participants.
There are tickets still available for this event.
2012 People’s Choice Awards
In January, the People’s Choice Awards will air. I don’t always agree with who or what is nominated. However, the nice thing about these awards is “we” get to vote and determine the winner. Not agencies, not elite groups like the Academy of Arts and Sciences, not conglomerations…just us.
So, with this being said, I want to promote two of my favorite guys and their show… you got it Supernatural. And Yes, I do review The Walking Dead and not Supernatural, but I have been a much longer fan of Supernatural than The Walking Dead. There is some loyalty, and I think this season has been better than Season 6. I think Supernatural deserves more recognition that it gets. The Walking Dead has blazed a new trail for zombie entertainment and human drama, but Supernatural has never gotten as much attention as this cable show. For the reason of this, the show’s amazing casting, it’s creative storytelling, and one of the best story arcs ever that came to a head in Season 5 — This show is bang on!
***NEWS FLASH *** Through the voting process, I found out Supernatural has been nominated twice in the TV Drama category and SciFi/Fantasy category. So, in theory, you could vote for Supernatural in the TV Drama category and The Walking Dead in the SciFi/Fantasy category. However, me.. I am voting both for Supernatural.
So, I encourage you to head over to their web site (link) and vote for Supernatural. Really, I just encourage you to vote since this is our chance to recognize entertainment arts that we have enjoyed in 2011. Remember, you are not limited to one vote. You can vote as many times as you want.
Oh, for those that made the selections for TV Late Night Host – BOO! Hiss! for ignoring the funniest one of them all Craig Ferguson!
Netflix Inks A Deal With CW
Good news for all you Supernatural fans out there! Now you can have all your seasons in one spot! Netflix inked a deal with CW. They have agreed upon a 4-year non-exclusive deal to make past and future episodes of many of their hit television series available for instant streaming.
Netflix will be adding over 700 hours of television programming from The CW to their continuously growing catalog. Beginning October 18, previous seasons of The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Nikita will be available to watch instantly. Unfortunately, for fans of Supernatural (and 90210), you will have to wait until January 2012 to catch up on past episodes.
Also in the works is the plan to bring episodes from new series airing on The CW this year by the end of 2012 – with any future programming airing through 2015. As Screen Rant mentions, it’s a good step in the right direction after Netflix mishandling of its costumers concerning the separation of services. However, CW might have got the better deal out of their newly forged relationship.

On other related Supernatural news, it is reported that Jared and Genevieve are expecting a little one. Many fans have asked Jared on Twitter where to send gifts. However, Jared said please send a donation to St. Jude’s instead. If you would like to donate in their name, visit here:

Firefly’s Jewel Staite on Supernatural
Tonight, Jewel Staite will be appearing on Supernatural as the demon who gave Sam his first kiss. Watch and find out more.
On the flipside, it seems Jewel is a bit of a foodie. She has her own blog/website at http://happyopu.net/
Also, Supernatural sends a shoutout to Dr. Who. Jewel’s character is named Amy Pond. How cool, eh? Supernatural <3 Dr. Who.
I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't mind if Dean and Sam have an encounter with the TARDIS.
Supernatural Season 7 Premieres Tonight
Countdown to Winchester Time
It’s getting closer to September 23rd and that means our favorite fictional brothers are back on the tube… you know who I am talking about.. Dean and Sam Winchester.
Supernatural is one of my favorite shows next to Dr. Who, True Blood, and Warehouse 13. I am relieved that The Winchesters are rolling into town as we end the 4th seasons of True Blood.
To just jump start the excitement, I came across this picture of Jared and Mark Shepherd (Crowley). Talk about complete nergasm!!!
I must say this is the only time where I wish I could be at San Diego Comic Con. Otherwise, there are just too many people. One day, I am going to get to a Supernatural con. It’s on my bucket list.
Buffy Alums To Guest on Supernatural
Two alums of the Buffyverse are coming CW’s season 7 of Supernatural. While Season 6 had its moments, most of us can agree that the show didn’t hit a high note. Let’s hope that Season 7 can turn things around and what a fantastic revelation that Spike and Cordelia (well, we wish those characters were guesting) will be guesting as husband and wife on episode 5 of Supernatural Season 7. It’s not that much long until Season 7 starts – September 23, 2011. Since True Blood will be ending it’s season on September 11th, it will be nice to welcome back Dean and Sam…. and Bobby.

Robot X Robot Loves Supernatural

We here are Robot x Robot L-O-V-E Supernatural. To celebrate the end of the break and the start of new episodes, starting this Friday, we present to you……(drum roll)
The Top Ten Signs You’ve Watched Too Much “Supernatural”
10. You refuse to add an iPod jack to your car because you don’t
want to “douche it up”.
9. Every time you hear Kansas’ “Carry on My Wayward Son” you stop
what you are doing and say a prayer for John Winchester’s soul.
8. You turn up the air-conditioning in your house just so you can
pretend there’s a cold spot in the room.
7. Whenever requesting a table at a restaurant, you give the hostess
the last name of a rock star (“Nugent, party of two?”)
6. When planning your wedding, you ask the minister to read a
passage from the Winchester Gospels.
5. You advise your neighbor to salt and burn the body of their
deceased parakeet, “just in case”.
4. Every time you see a man in a tan trench coat, you tap him on
the shoulder to see if it’s Castiel.
3. You etch sacred symbols into a butter knife so that it will kill
demons.
2. If you have a bad day you blame it on the Trickster.
1. As soon as the weather forecast calls for thunderstorms, you
suggest to your friends that they call Bobby to see if he’s heard of
any other demonic omens in the area.
List was created by Robot x Robot guest writer HMS, who is a Supernatural fan and ironically, my co-worker.
BTW… I don’t know about you but after seeing the preview of this week’s episode – I must say that Bobby and Ellen make the cutest couple! However, given their personalities they would grate each others nerves.
