A new horror anthology flick V/H/S is going to be released soon and io9 claims that this anthology has scared a lot of critics. That’s what horror movies are supposed to do right? Well, it’s been awhile since I have heard about a horror movie that truly puts the fear into people, especially consummate movie-going critics. I am very intrigued.
Magnolia Pictures picked up the collaborative horror feature V/H/S out of Sundance and has just brought online its first bit of marketing.
The film brings together genre directors Adam Wingard, Glenn McQuaid, Radio Silence, David Bruckner, Joe Swanberg and Ti West to tell a story of a group of petty criminals hired to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, but upon arrival a lifeless body sits before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. The search for the one they came looking for proves horrifying.
Today a red band trailer and the first poster for the film has arrived in advance of its August 31 On Demand release, which will be followed by a limited October 5 theatrical roll out. – Rope of Silicon, Brad Brevet
Here’s the Red Band trailer. (Remember Red Band is usually the type of trailer that is NSFW – Not Safe For Work)
